About InHouse

With more than 30 years of print industry experience, Bob and Diane decided to continue their story by starting a commercial printing business with a few bubble jet printers, under the family home. To acknowledge their humble beginnings, “InHouse” Print & Design was born.

Passionate about providing exceptional customer service in a welcoming home environment, each new client was greeted by their late and very much-loved poodle, Caramel, at the door. With an ever-expanding client database, new machinery and staff members, the decision to move to a large commercial building was made.

A lot has changed since Bob and Diane first started the business. They now have Jac the poodle who greets all their print and publishing clients, a large team of printers, editors, and designers, and a factory full of advanced machinery. But what is most important has stayed the same. InHouse Print & Design is still owned by Bob and Diane Karlsson with three generations of family working within the business. InHouse continues to develop long-term relationships with their clients built on trust and reliability. Their aim continues to be to provide a level of customer service and caring that goes above and beyond, all at an affordable price. For some it’s business, for InHouse Print & Design, it’s family.

Bob Karlsson

InHouse is a big part of me. I started it from scratch and it’s amazing where it is going—thanks also to the others involved. When not at work I have simple tastes: fresh air, a good cup of coffee, peace—and by the way, it’s me that makes the coffee. I’m happy to potter around at home, fixing things.
My Saturday treat is a cheese platter by the pool with my wife and poodle.
We are now the family elders, as all parents have passed. Spending time with the grandchildren is a good way to pass the time and it’s great to watch them grow and develop.

I was born in Stockholm and have been back twice to see parents and family, once accompanied by our eight-year-old granddaughter, who had never seen snow.

Di Karlsson

I was educated in England, thank goodness, as Spilling and Grammar (tee hee)
are quite important in this industry. I love to read books on natural health and self-healing, and people’s journeys through cancer and other debilitating illnesses.

I love to garden and grow our food as much as possible, which is a great way to
connect to yourself and other power sources. I’m also an enthusiastic cook and
love to try new things. Bob and I like to travel when we can and wish Australia
was like Europe, where dogs can go anywhere with you; buses, planes, hotels,
restaurants, etc.

I have fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchild. They are a great source of pleasure and entertainment. Family is a huge part of our life at work and at home.

General Manager

Guy Kirk

Most of my time outside of work is spent with my partner, Amanda, and our two boys, Phoenix and the little superman Calel.

I previously worked in many different roles, from automotive logistics to commercial air-conditioning installation, before landing a role in IT support for a large engineering firm. That led to my position as a senior software developer at the Queensland PA Hospital before working for InHouse.

Jacob Dunn

I have an anime/Tv series addiction. I’ve seen every episode and read every comic there is for Naruto, One Piece, and Fairy Tail, so you could say I know a thing or two about dedication. I went to Livingstone Christian College for the majority of high school.

We have a great team here at InHouse; nobody feels excluded and we always get the job done. I started my employment here some time ago now, and I am very happy to be here, where I work with such wonderful people.

My key role here is Print manager; I run all our digital machines in the print factory and dabble in cello glazing, cutting, art and design.

I am the mother of three very grown children and the very proud grandmother of three grandchildren all of whom are the lights in my life, and I can never get enough Nana time I have two little pug cross fur babies Bella and Peggy-Sue and a crazy galah named Luna (short for Lunatic), who keep me amused and busy.

I have rediscovered my love of life, Parkrun, dance both rock & roll and modern jive and how much fun life can be with my chosen family of friends who appreciate me for being me even on my wacky days. I also appreciate my gardening, reading, dancing and cooking and entertaining my friends and family in my own home.

I have also rediscovered the fun of having a mortgage and being the only decision maker in my life.

Bindery Manager

I am mother to a son (Simon) and a daughter (Rebecca); grandmother to nine (five girls, four boys); and human to Misty Blue, my blue staffy. I completed Year 12 in Adelaide, and relocated to Brisbane in 1999, mainly due to my children’s involvement in ice-skating.

I am a parkrun addict, which is a 5km walk/run on Saturday mornings. It is a good way to start the weekend. I have done 3 marathons, first one at the age of 59.

I do Zumba, to the surprise of my daughter, who said, ‘Mum, you don’t dance.’ Never too old to start! And I enjoy it. I enjoy family and friend time, browsing through markets, sightseeing, making sun-catchers, trivia evenings, gardening, walking, the sound of birds, watching lightning and swaying gumtrees. Couldn’t live without quality ice cream.
